AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES

AGES 4 - 11 /// DROP OFF CLASS

MARCH ART STUDIOS is an exploratory art studio. That means we focus on the process over the product, igniting the imagination to endless art possibilities. We explore unique techniques and materials each visit. Sometimes we work on a project and it’s finished that day, sometimes we work on larger projects over multiple weeks, sometimes we explore just in studio and the activity stays there. Some examples of materials we use are found objects, nature items, fabric and clay just to name a few. A few techniques we explore are collage, print making, sculpting and mixed media.

Science has so many artistic possibilities as well! We often incorporate science into our projects. Ooblek, slime, color theory and potions are just a few of our favorite science meets art activities.

Each month of classes is called a workshop. Each workshop’s theme is based on the season or perhaps a holiday or event that is near. Even if you’ve explored with us for years… our projects are always changing and evolving. The age range of 4 to 11 is a guideline… if your older artist is still having a blast in class they are more than welcome to continue exploring! On on the other side of that, if you have a younger artist who would like to join an older sibling, just reach out and we’ll see what we can do.

TODDLER CLASSES

AGES 2 - 5 /// CLASS WITH A GUARDIAN

MARCH ART STUDIOS is an exploratory art studio. That means we focus on the process over the product, igniting the imagination to endless art possibilities. We explore unique techniques and materials each visit. Sometimes we work on a project and it is finished that day, sometimes we work on larger projects over multiple weeks, sometimes we explore just in studio and the activity stays there.

Our toddler classes are designed for their curious minds! We like to move from station to station to keep our artists engaged. This means we will have two, three, sometimes four projects a class. We pace the class based on the artists, so if they are ready to move along we do and if they are engaged, we don’t make them move to the next project until they are ready. Most classes will offer at least one sensory table after the main project/s. Sometimes these tables can be so much fun it is hard to leave and I invite your artist to stay for an additional 15 minutes if they are just not ready to say goodbye when class is over.

Guardians are required to stay in the studio as the artist creates. However, we encourage guardians to let their artist explore independently unless the artist is asking for a little assistance.
